Day care centres

Day hospitals are an intensive form of outpatient psychotherapeutic care. People meet there every day and undergo a psychotherapeutic programme together. The aim is to work together on self-development in an environment where help and support for every person in psychological distress is a matter of course.

At the Mental Rehabilitation Centre, everyone is accepted as a person with individual needs and wishes, where everyone receives a friendly and partner-like approach. Thus, daily participation is really important for the effectiveness and continuity of care. We are gradually preparing and opening up treatment for most psychiatric problems, primarily focused also on care, which has been lacking in the Czech Republic so far. That is why we are building, among other things, residential facilities for people living with personality disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The adolescent inpatient unit is already in operation and will start selecting patients for other specialised programmes from November 2024.

Day hospitals

Are you struggling with anxiety, stress, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) or a personality disorder? Do you feel lonely, misunderstood or helpless? Do you need help with a psychotic disorder?

At the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation, we are gradually opening up the possibility for you to attend our day centres, where we will provide you with high-quality, individual psychotherapy. There will be, or already are, three day inpatient units for adults and one fractional inpatient unit for adolescents. Our programs are based on the latest science and methods to help you better understand and manage your difficulties. You will also have the opportunity to meet people who have similar experiences and problems to yours and support each other.

Anxiety disorders inpatient unit

If you feel anxious, nervous, worried about things or have a compulsion to repeat certain activities or thoughts, you will be able to sign up to our inpatient unit for patients with anxiety disorders. This is a six-week program in a closed group setting where you will have the opportunity to experience intensive and individual psychotherapy. Our psychotherapy combines different approaches to help you understand and change your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. You will learn how to manage your anxieties, fears, obsessions and compulsions in everyday life. In addition to psychotherapy, you will also use music therapy, art therapy, virtual reality therapy and movement therapy. All of our methods are proven and will be effective for your diagnostic group.

Inpatient treatment for patients with personality disorders in a closed group

If you have problems with relationships, self-esteem, emotions or impulsivity, you may be able to join our inpatient group for patients with personality disorders. This is a six-week program in a closed group setting where you will be part of a therapeutic community and group psychotherapy. Our psychotherapy is based on what is known as schema-therapy to help you understand and change your patterns of thinking, feeling and behaviour. You will learn how to manage your problems and symptoms in everyday life. In addition to psychotherapy, you will also have the opportunity to engage in movement therapy, music therapy and art therapy. The psychotherapeutic approaches we will be doing with you have been validated in research programmes and we have extensive experience of them.

Inpatient psychotic unit

If you are being treated for a psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or bipolar disorder, you will be able to participate in our psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic program in an open group setting. Our psychotherapy is based on a cognitive-behavioral approach to help you better understand and manage your problem. You will learn more about psychosis, its causes and consequences, how to distinguish reality from illusion, the importance of treatment and how to avoid stigma. You will also learn how to communicate and make social connections, how to live a healthy life and how to prevent your condition from getting worse. You will also have one-to-one support from our professionals or family therapy, depending on your needs. In addition to psychotherapy, you will also have the opportunity to engage in various creative therapies such as music therapy, art therapy or working with different materials. This program will offer you the opportunity to have more information about your disorder, lead a healthy lifestyle, monitor warning signs and manage symptoms, learn different stress management strategies, and recognize and correct communication problems. The program will also include psychoeducational sessions with your family members.

Adolescent residential centre

This comprehensive therapeutic program is designed for adolescents ages 14 to 18 with psychiatric disorders for whom outpatient therapy is appropriate. These include anxiety and depressive disorders, sleep disorders, ADHD, and psychological problems related to schooling and adolescence. It takes the form of group psychotherapy and provides opportunities to meet with peers who have similar psychological problems. In addition to group therapy, it includes individual therapy, occupational therapy, art therapy, relaxation and other supportive activities such as sports, social games or other creative activities.

All our methods are proven and effective for adolescents with mental health problems. The program also includes meetings with parents to give them the opportunity to learn more about their children's situation and how they can help. To participate in the program, a child must have secured outpatient psychiatric care.

Attendance groups

If you have a mental health problem such as anxiety, depression or a personality disorder and want to feel better, you will be able to sign up for our outpatient psychotherapy attendance groups. These are suitable for anyone who is working or has been inpatient and wants to prevent their condition from getting worse. The groups will help you get support from our therapists and from other people who have similar problems to you. Our groups will make you feel better and help you learn to manage your difficulties in everyday life and avoid them coming back.
