The treatment care at the Centre for Mental Rehabilitation (CDR) is based on the exceptional professional qualities of the staff, their professionalism, friendliness, understanding, support and the use of modern technology.
Light for psychiatric care in the Czech Republic
Throughout the CDR building, a unique lighting system is visible at first glance, which imitates the natural daily cycle and whose effect is to restore the correct setting of circadian rhythms. This appropriately applied lighting regime has the effect of treating symptoms of mood disorders, improving activity, positively affecting memory and, last but not least, the quality and duration of sleep. The building itself is therefore an exceptional therapeutic tool.
Selected therapeutic programmes include the use of a wide range of other modern technologies, including, for example, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and direct current stimulation. In addition, we also use chronobiological phototherapy methods, therapeutic applications of virtual reality and, last but not least, extensive telemedicine capabilities.
Mind and body care
Medical care at CDR is designed to be comprehensive. This means that together with technological aids we also use optimally adjusted combinations of pharmacotherapy with individual and group psychotherapy. Various forms of creative therapies, such as art therapy, drama therapy or music therapy, are also widely included in our programmes. Physical activities in the gym, gym, swimming pool and sauna and, last but not least, nutritional therapy are also part of the treatment.
Meaningful care relies on teamwork and multidisciplinarity
The Mental Rehabilitation Centre is also unique because of its emphasis on continuity of care, for example through a community and multidisciplinary approach. It is a more pleasant and efficient transition between the different phases of the recovery process. Social workers or peers (trained social service workers) are available to assist patients with such things as office and pension issues, as well as doctor's appointments and other life needs.
The CDR building is located on the premises of the Beroun Rehabilitation Hospital, with which it forms one unit. As a result, we are able to provide patients with extended care that includes addressing other potential health issues.
